By Becky Vargo Joyce Workman says she’s always loved the color green. She can’t remember ever loving another color. “It’s my color,” she explains. “I’m nearly always wearing it, collecting it.” Workman also loves antiques — knowing that each piece has its own story, that it was loved by someone and once treasured. Combining those two loves almost three years ago gave birth to Vintage Green, an affordable antiques store at 7 N. Seventh St. in Grand Haven. The former director of Advancement for Christian Schools said opening the store crossed an item off her bucket list.

Michelle Brolick reflects on 20 years as owner of Old Boys’ Brewhouse By Marie Havenga SPRING LAKE — Seems Michelle Brolick was destined to own a restaurant. She worked in one her entire working life, she majored in hospitality in college and she wanted to find a unique niche. So she built her own restaurant/brewery on a waterfront parcel in the Village of Spring Lake, years before breweries were bountiful. Old Boys’ Brewhouse, 971 W. Savidge Street, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
